Allie’s Quarantine Baking Checklist

You’ve seen most of these recipes on my Instagram, and now I’m sharing them here! Let me know which ones you’ve made. Enjoy!

You can obsess over these recipes in Instagram Land, too! I took every picture here and even added the link to my Instagram posts from when I made the recipes myself.

Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

RECIPE SOURCE: Sugar Spun Run

MY TWO CENTS:

  • I will be making this recipe on repeat.
  • With a one-tablespoon scooper, you will get a lot of cookies out of one batch.
  • I chopped up chocolate chunks instead of using chocolate chips and it is a MAJOR game changer for cookie baking.

Candied Almonds

RECIPE SOURCE: Plated Cravings

MY TWO CENTS:

  • I used a large pan instead of a pot to cook the almonds. I don’t know what the recipe says to do off the top of my head, but I feel like it was just easier to coat the almonds quick and well this way.
  • I could eat them as is by the batch, but I also mixed these in mandel bread. They were AMAZING!

Funfetti Oreo Cookies

RECIPE SOURCE: Chelsweets

MY TWO CENTS:

  • I would add less butter than what the recipe says. Maybe a half stick less.
  • These cookies are so good and are as fun to eat as they look!
  • I need to figure out how to get these cookies to maintain volume. They appear fluffier on the blog.
  • Taste was on point!

Snickerdoodle Cookies

RECIPE SOURCE: Crazy for Crust

MY TWO CENTS:

  • I have tried a couple different Snickerdoodles cookie recipes in recent history and these are hands down the best.
  • They have a cake-like consistency even though I don’t think they appear that way in my pictures.
  • As you can tell, they get super flat and I’m not really sure how to maintain volume with these cookies. If you have any pointers, give me a holler!

Strawberry RHubarb Pie

RECIPE SOURCE: Beyond the Butter

MY TWO CENTS:

  • The filling is UNBELIEVABLE. I cannot hype this recipe enough!
  • I used store-bought pie crust because we had it on hand. I would absolutely try this again with the crust recipe provided with the filling recipe.

Super Soft Sprinkle Pudding Cookies

RECIPE SOURCE: Cookies and Cups

MY TWO CENTS:

  • The dough is a little “tougher” than normal cookie dough, so definitely use a stand or hand mixer for this recipe. I do not recommend hand mixing.
  • Don’t let the consistency of the dough fool you. The dough and cookies are both delicious!

TIE DYE CAKE

RECIPE SOURCE: Cakes by Melissa Cookbook

MY TWO CENTS:

  • It’s not as complicated to make as it appears.
  • Follow @melissabenishay on Instagram for more tips because she makes this cake pretty often with her kids.
  • Make a ganache for drip cakes. Using a glaze like I did here was not my best flex! #RookieMistake
