Chicago Restaurants Rundown – July 2023

People always ask me about the restaurants I’ve recently tried and enjoyed. In an attempt to streamline this information, I will recap my dining experiences monthly with rundown!

From happy hours to hidden gems, I loved trying and revisiting some amazing restaurants in Chicago.

BEATRIX

834 W. Fulton Market

Burger and Fries from Beatrix in Chicago

Beatrix has a great happy hour special: $5 local beers, $6 wines, $7 hand-crafted cocktails, $9 burgers. I love a burger and a drink for less than $20!

CBR

505 N. State

Chips and a cocktail from CBR - located in the Royal Sonesta River North (Chicago)

I went to CBR for the July installment of their Summer Spirit Series. The tacos and cocktails were phenomenal, so I would absolutely return in the future to check out more items on CBR’s amazing menu.

EGGSPERIENCE

3233 N. Broadway

Egg White Omelette and side of Fresh Fruit from Eggsperience in Chicago

I have been a huge fan of Eggsperience for years, so I was happy to be back. The omelettes are incredible and filling. Eggsperience is reliable for a consistently good breakfast.

HOMESLICE

938 W. Webster

NADENE PIZZA cupped pepperoni, ricotta, basil, hot honey and marinara base - located at Homeslice in Chicago, IL

I’ve been to Homeslice and its sister restaurants several times in the past, but I had never tried the Nadene pizza with cupped pepperoni, ricotta, basil, hot honey and a marinara base.

HUB 51

51 W. Hubbard

Nachos at Hub 51 in Chicago, IL

Hub 51 is one of my favorite restaurants in River North. I love their happy hour specials. The nachos are consistently amazing. Even the happy hour portion of the nachos could be a meal!

TAXIM

1558 N. Milwaukee

Hummus from Taxim Restaurant in Wicker Park, Chicago

I need to go back to Taxim to try more of the items on the menu. They had some great shareable dips, and I loved the shrimp wrapped in grape leaves.

Where should I go next month? We need to make the most of patio season before we are trapped inside all winter!
