Chicago Restaurants Rundown – September 2023

My journey of eating my way through Chicago continues! Here is everywhere I ate in September.

BUB CITY

435 N. Clark Street

This River North hot spot is a great place to go with a group of friends and enjoy live music while eating good food. Bub City has an extensive BBQ menu that will not disappoint.

I recommend the Giddy-Up Fries with brisket and the Hickory-Smoked Jumbo Chicken Wings.

CAFE BA-BA-REEBA!

2024 N. Halsted Street

Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba! has the best tapas ever. This Lincoln Park gem is delicious, and it is the perfect place to just order so many menu items and enjoy the flavorful dishes.

THE CAULDRON CHICAGO

1612 W. Division Street

The Cauldron is not a cocktail bar, but a potion bar! The mixology at this concept is next level.

I poured a liquid into the cocktail pictured here to make the bubbles form. It was such a fun experience and I would totally go back.

THE DELTA

1745 W. North Avenue

While on a Wicker Park Dinner Crawl, I got to try The Delta and the Hoppin’ John (pictured here!).

This concept pays homage to the Mississippi Delta, and I hope to return for brunch in the near future to try more of the fantastic menu items.

FIVE & DIME

1026 Davis Street (Evanston)

I was in Evanston for the afternoon and we wanted to enjoy the perfect summer day on the rooftop of Five & Dime.

The food was traditional American fare, and the cocktail was great! I love frozen cocktails so this was an easy sell for me.

L. WOODS TAP & PINE LODGE

7110 Lincoln Avenue (Lincolnwood)

I love the BBQ fare at L. Woods Tap & Pine Lodge. During this visit to L. Woods, we enjoyed the Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad.

We added salmon to the salad as a perfect pairing with the honeycrisp apple, kale, white cheddar, pecans, white balsamic vinaigrette.

PARADISE PARK

1913 W. North Avenue

I am a huge fan of the Nadene pizza at Paradise Park. It’s also available at Happy Hospitality’s other concepts, Happy Camper and Homeslice. I love the perfect balance of heat from the hot honey when paired the mild and nutty ricotta cheese.

Where should I go next month? It must be amazing if I will be leaving my apartment in the cold Chicago weather!
